Zara and I climbed Island Peak 6108m in April 2008. Island Peak is a smaller peak next to Lhotse int he Everest area.

We used a company called Monviso who managed to

-screw up getting the right equipment to us
-gave us broken crampons
-made us get up at 1am, climb the mountain and then PACK UP BASE CAMP and walk back to civilisation in a 19 hour period with only A PLATE OF PASTA all day
-Get our return flights WRONG

To be fair, it was a cheap deal cos we arranged it out there. BUT DO NOT USE MONVISO.

trawling through my disorganised collection of photos on the pc found this little gem tucked away in a forgotten folder. taken at the end (for most mortals at least!) of the everest trek at the top of Kala Pathar. think it's around 5400m or so above sea level. walked on my own all the way, and back, from Giri as i'm too cheap to pay for guide / flights etc. even managed to dodge them maoists that hang around on the bridge before Namche.
